This December we are excited to present to you an amazing Blues Weekend in Nürnberg and Erlangen with a Christmas twist. We have planned workshops and party venues in Nuremberg and Erlangen in the vicinity of the famous Christkindlesmarkt (and three other markets) as well as many other surprises.
We are fortunate to have Dan & Jenny, two of the world’s top Blues teachers, teaching workshops Saturday and Sunday across two levels. Dan & Jenny are both full-time international dance instructors traveling to share the joy of dance. They’ve won many competitions around the world both separately and together in Lindy Hop and Blues. They have found themselves teaching together with ease throughout events with a focus on musicality, fine movement detail, and play between partners. More information is available on their website: http://www.jennydan.com/
Nuremberg and Erlangen are neighbouring cities and beautiful examples of traditional Bavarian/Franconian architecture. In winter, they are renowned for being transformed by the Christmas markets and decorations to feel truly festive. Make sure you try the Feuerzangenbowle (like Glühwein, but better), Lebkuchen (gingerbread specialty) and the Nürnbergers (the local wurst)!
Other than the markets, Nürnberg is famous for it’s lovely old town centre, castle, numerous churches, and the trials after WW2 (you can take a tour of the Courthouse). Erlangen is a smaller, university city (about 1/6 the size) with a small centre that includes the main shopping street, castle and botanical gardens.
We have made sure that all venues (workshop, party and accomodation) as well some of the christmas markets are all in walkable distance to give you the best experience and not waste your time on transportation.
There are direct cheap Ryanair flights from Manchester, London, Krakow, Milano, Madrid, Vilnius, Budapest, and Porto, and there are cheap flights to all other European metropolitans as well as good train and bus connections.
We are offering a Beginners-Intermediate and an Intermediate-Advanced track. Each track will offer six hours of classes with Jenny and Dan, which also gives you enough time to enjoy the christmas markets and have some quality time with old and new friends.
We are having parties on Friday, Saturday and a good-bye party on Sunday. Each party will feature lovely blues and fusion music by amazing DJs in a festive atmosphere as well as tasty christmas treats and mulled wine. Be prepared for some surprises we have up our sleeves.
For people who already arrive on Thursday we have a small house pre-party that everyone is welcome to.
We want to make this event affordable for everyone, so each participant can choose what they can afford.

There is a train directly between Nürnberg and Erlangen (20 mins travel time) which runs every 20 minutes.
To travel to/from the Nürnberg Airport to Nürnberg or Erlangen there is a bus which costs €3
.50 (runs between both cities as the Airport is in between). The train also runs from the Airport to Nürnberg.
The final timetable will be released closer to the event, but is planned to commence formally on Friday evening and close early evening on Sunday, to allow those travelling from other cities enough time to travel home by a reasonable hour. The timetable will be constructed so that there will be plenty of time to visit the markets, explore the city, attend the workshops and party nights.
